ROB THOMAS
Director & Primary Teacher
Rob Thomas started his career in the arts at the age of 10yrs in a tv commercial and then went on to train at the Sylvia Young Theatre School on a part scholarship. This led to working with The Royal Shakespeare Company at The Barbican Theatre, Oliver! at The London Palladium, Voice Over work for The BBC and commercials, various TV work and adverts such as Pringles, Milkyway and more as well as Dancing with The Spice Girls. Then was awarded a full scholarship to The London Studio Centre to train completing 2yrs before beginning working as a backing dancer for artists such as Atomic Kitten, Beverly Knight, The Cheeky Girls, X Factor, Emma B, Stooshe, Gloria Gaynor, Geri Halliwell and Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson to name a few. Rob began working as a dance teacher alongside this teaching children commercial & Streetdance at performing art schools and schools discovering a love for this and dedicates a lot of time building the next generation of performers; also being asked to be on the faculty at Sylvia Young Theatre School himself. He has also worked with special needs young people, volunteered helping youth charities and refugees. Recently adding choreographer to the skill set working with a top London media company on campaigns and UK girlband The 411 as creative director for their tour including the iconic Mighty Hoopla. Rob also recently spent 2 years training with renowned hip hop dance company BoyBlue working on his craft as a dancer and teacher.
